Dear Fuller Families,

Welcome to the 2014-15 school year!  We are excited to welcome all our new families and to welcome back our returning ones.  This will be a year full of learning and growth for all of us and I look forward to sharing it with you.

This year the Fuller Staff will work in partnership with the Keene School Board to meet the following Keene School Board goals:

  1. All students will achieve proficiency in math, reading and writing, and/or high growth, thereby making AYP.
  2. All teachers will become proficient in differentiated instruction.
  3. Each school’s social and behavioral environmental program will be audited to determine how children are being empowered to learn.
  4. In partnership with key stakeholders, the school district will develop strategies to enhance children’s ability to come to school “ready to learn.”

In order to achieve these ambitious goals we recognize the crucial role that families play as our partners in children’s education.  We look forward to working with you to support your children’s growth and development and welcome opportunities for you to play an active part in this process.

This handbook is full of the many details that help to make the school run smoothly.  We hope it provides a useful reference for you as we enter the new school year.  In addition to this handbook there are several forms for you to fill out and return.  I would like to encourage all families to fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application.  This program can provide support for families in need as well as for the Keene School District in the form of federal and state funds.  Even if you qualify it is always your choice to participate in the school’s breakfast and lunch programs.  All information is strictly confidential and only available to the Food Service Administration for SAU 29.   This form needs to be returned by September 30 at any time during the year if your financial situation changes.

I look forward to a great school year, getting to know the staff and families of Fuller School.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, thoughts, and concerns you may have!
